    KDC are working with a Part 21J approved Design Organisation based in the South that provide installations and modifications across a variety of aircraft including small and large, fixed and rotary wing. They are currently seeking an Airworthiness Design Engineer to join their team to be responsible for airworthiness and certification activities.

    Main Responsibilities:
    • Preparation of design certification documents
    • Liaison with customers to address design requirements/delivery dates/queries
    • Checking design certification documents
    • Maintaining an awareness of current aeronautical practices/issues
    • Ensuring that all design procedures are adhered to
    • Participating with Regulatory audits as required
    • Assist in the developing internal procedures and processes
    • Assist in the approval of external testing facilities
    • Peer group training, e.g. mentoring new staff, developing existing staff knowledge
    • Liaison with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) or tasked National Aviation Authority (NAA)

They are currently seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join their team to be responsible for design, certification and project management activities.

    Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Preparation of structural documents (e.g. substantiation reports)
    • Adhering to project timescales/time management of own projects
    • Addressing in-service difficulty reports/design queries after completion of a design
    • Providing on-site assistance to aircraft surveys or aircraft maintenance staff
    • Maintaining an awareness of current aeronautical practices/issues
    • Continued professional development: attending training courses, seminars, etc.

    The successful candidate will have the following experience:
    • Compiling / checking substantiation reports (including stress analysis)
    • Compiling / checking test plans and reports

  • Design Assurance Manager

    KDC are working closely with a Design Organisation based in the South West looking to add a Design Assurance Manager to their team.

    Working in a close knit environment, you will be responsible for administering the companies design assurance system. You will ensure the efficiency of the design assurance system through the Independent Monitoring System, through an independent auditing and reporting system, to monitor the continued compliance and effectiveness of the entire Design Organisation and its processes with the requirements of EASA Part 21.

    Key Attributes:
    • Completed suitable education/training of ISO 9001 and EASA Part 21 Subpart J auditing processes. An understanding of UK CAA A8-21 and UK MAA DAOS requirements would also be an advantage.
    • Minimum 2 years auditing experience within previous position to monitor compliance with the above requirements, or an approved EASA Form 4 Holder in a previous role.
    • A full understanding of the regulatory requirements of EASA Part 21 Subpart J for Design Assurance.
    • Be of a character that displays a thorough methodical approach and shows attention to detail.
    • Maintain an un-compromised position towards auditing compliance of process and procedures to the requirements of the company's EASA and DAOS Scopes of Approval.
    • Computer literate (conversant with MS Office software such as Word or Excel, and AutoCAD computer aided design software), and familiar with EASA, CAA and FAA websites.
