Job Description

Are you a Production Manager with a background of working within a precision manufacturing environment?

KDC are currently working closely with a Leading Manufacturer of Precision Machined Components, Fabrications, Assemblies and Kit Sets for multiple industries including Aerospace, Marine, and Sea Systems.

The successful person will have the opportunity to add value to the company in the following areas:

• Ensuring the effective management of the team and the organisation's resources
• Monitoring the production practices and setting the schedules as required
• Liaising across LPE's departments (Planning, Production Engineering and Quality) to prevent any probable delay
• Supervising and inspiring their teams whilst improving performance
• Be familiar with the processes under their accountability, have hands on experience of working in a precision engineering environment
• Ensure production times are challenged and improved where possible
• Monitor and correct any safety breeches
• Verify that all production records and logs are complete and accurate
• Set priority of work load in associated areas, adopting DBR principles
• Monitor production tools and equipment, report production or safety problems in a timely manner
• In conjunction with supporting functions develop standard work for new products/modified products being introduced to the manufacturing area
• To lead by example in work ethic, attitude and following of work policies
• Recognise and recommend excellent individual performance, celebrate success of the team
• Identify and action training needs across the team
• Key member of the Production Management team
• Assisting the development of production schedule and subsequent achievement in a timely and cost effective manner whilst ensuring stock under direct and indirect control are maintained at agreed levels

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience working within a precision manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of Quality Systems and Standards; ISO 9001 , AS9100
• Experience in working with ERP/MRP Systems
• Proven historic experience of managing people; up-to 30 maximum
• Wide ranging manufacturing process knowledge, across differing materials in 2-5 axis applications
