Job Description

KDC have a great opportunity for a remote sensing or earth observation professional or researcher, with knowledge of satellite Earth observation (EO) data systems and processing, to join our client’s team. Our client is part of a company containing over 2500 people working in the growing field of Space Systems and operations and Geo-Information.

Objective

To contribute to operational and science-based services and system developments for national, and international, based EO programmes.

Your responsibilities

• Support services to ESA including the Earthnet Data Assessment Pilot (EDAP) and Instrument Data quality Evaluation and Analysis service (IDEAS-QA4EO).
• Interact with expert customers on mission data issues.
• Carry out occasional travel to customer sites.
• Contribute to technical proposal authoring, to win new work.

What you’ll need

• University degree/MSc (or equivalent) in Geography, Physics, Remote Sensing, or a related discipline.
• Experience/Understanding, in either an industrial or academic setting.
• Supporting operational processing systems for EO data (e.g., level ‘1’ to level ‘2’ and ‘level 3’ processing)
• Working with Optical, SAR or Altimetric earth observation data
• Using and adapting tools for remote sensing data manipulation
• Understanding of EO data processing levels
• Understanding of instrument calibration principles (e.g., geometric, radiometric, spectral, etc)
• Data handling and manipulation
• Technical document authoring
