Electric Powertrain Design Engineer
KDC are now recruiting for one of the largest clients in the urban air mobility sector. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced electric propulsion system engineer to join their company in Germany. The ideal candidate for this position would also have great experience with motor controllers and testing activities.
Our Client
Our client is an industry leader in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOL). They plan to offer an air taxi service that can save people time by flying them directly to their destination. Our client is looking for a candidate that is passionate about eVTOL technology that will fit in with the brilliant working culture they are developing.
Your Role
This role has come about following the recent extensive growth of our client’s electric propulsion department. You will be contributing to develop the Electric Propulsion System of a futuristic UAV either from a Hardware side, being hand in hand with suppliers or from a Software and Tools side. You will be taking part in all tests phases from simulation to flight tests on the way to release the craft in commercial operation.
Your Responsibilities will include:
  • You will work on UAV Electric and Propulsion Systems development
  • You will be able to work on electric and propulsion Systems suppliers/subcontractors technical management
  • You will be specifically in charge of developing and testing the new motor controllers and motors of the UAV Propulsion system
  • You will perform bench testing preparation, execution, and analysis
  • You will help in conducting ground and Flight Testing preparation, execution and analysis
  • You will perform all functional troubleshooting and problems solving
  • You work “Hands-On” and perform testing “On the field”
Required Skills
  • You have a Master Degree in Electrical System
  • You have 5 years of proven experience in Electric / Propulsion Systems development and test
  • Experience in Electric Powertrain
  • Experience in development of motor controllers Hardware and/or Software
  • You are a communicative team player and have organizational and implementation power
  • You have a responsible, initiative and solution-oriented way of working
