KDC Resource are working with an leading organisation within the defence industry who are looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to join a currently growing team and to take on the development of the organisations products. The Candidate must be able to communicate with and work alongside a multi-discipline team of engineers and managers.
The organisation also promotes Research and Development requirements from within, meaning that the Engineers have an environment to suggest additions to current designs as well as brand new designs.
This role with give you to opportunity to develop your skills in the following areas:
·Be active in Research and Development for the organisations current products as well as developing future products.
·Create detailed electronic Sub-Assembly Requirement Specifications from an Overall Design Specification.
·Create Functional Block Diagrams and Interconnectivity Diagrams as an aid to communicate with the team.
·Develop complex concepts and designs from a Requirement Specification.
·Design Circuit Schematics and Wiring Schedules
·Review PCB Layouts
·Keep detailed logs of development process and decisions made.
·Design and develop test equipment and test specifications from a Requirement Specification and Detailed Drawing.
·Develop creative methods to test electronic sub-assemblies for type approval.
·Lead design reviews on sub-assemblies relating to their own design.
·Deal with technical enquiries from Suppliers, Procurement and Production.
You may also be involved in the following tasks:
·Interface directly with the sales team and other internal customers; discuss requirements for future projects or to get feedback on current designs.
·Interface directly with external customers; discuss requirements for future projects or to get feedback on current designs.
·Travel abroad to meet with customers or support the Sales Team.
·Create Prototype Models e.g. verroboard/breadboard.
·Fault find electronic sub-assemblies with a schematic as reference.
·Be requested to work in another Business Unit if there is a specific requirement.
