Job Description

KDC have a requirement for a Systems Engineering based Project Manager to work within one of our leading customers in the Defence & Space industry. The role requires full accountability for the delivery of Cryogenic Solar Absolute Radiometer product development (up to PFM) ensuring the product is on time, on schedule and on quality.
  
This role is key for KDC in developing customer relationships and facilitating growth within this team.
  
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Primary interface to the customer’s supplier offering single point of contact and in turn representing the customer transversally to projects, supported by the customer’s SCQM.
  • End to end accountability on Cryogenic Solar Absolute radiometer. (CSAR) product development (up to PFM), ensuring the product is On Time, On Schedule. On Quality.
  • Responsible for programmatic aspects until delivery of the product to the project, managing cost and planning risks.
  • Responsible for product development cycle at customer’s supplier:
    • Flow down of requirements to supplier.
    • Review of supplier's performance against DDV plan.
    • Lead bi-weekly progress meetings.
    • Manage reviews up to PFM delivery and qualification (PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, DR, QR…)
  • Responsible for product performance, i.e., of all technical aspects
  • Coordinate with CSAR technical team (systems engineer, architect, mechanical, thermal, electrical performance engineers) on development:
    • Definition of requirements, compliance with requirements, development model design, qualification and verification.
  • Interface with CSAR stakeholders (industrial manager, other Design Responsible, ICA (Integrated CSAR Assembly) system engineer, payload system engineer, customer).
  • Coordinate generation of technical documentation (design and performance) and presentations.
  • Manage non-conformity of the product for containment, corrections and prevention.
  • Owns the APQP Planning and Product Design and Development phases
  • For industrial and production part, strongly liaises with SCQM during all the development phase.

Essential skills and experience 
  • 5+ years experience in project or programme management, delivering product development projects.
  • Systems Engineering background.
  • Demonstrable evidence of coordinating and managing multi disciplined teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Work Package management.
  • MS Office & Google Suite.
  • Previous space industry experience and familiarity with ESA ECSS processes/standards.
  • APQP Planning.
