Head of Liquid Propulsion

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Head of Liquid Propulsion to lead our client’s experienced team of experts in the design, development, test, and qualification of liquid propulsion systems, specifically 3D printed rocket engines, turbopumps and supporting subsystems. You will need to demonstrate a strong, broad knowledge base across theoretical and practical aspects of liquid propulsion technology, ideally from prototype through to flight-qualified hardware. Our client is a leading micro-launch company, well placed to be one of the first operational micro-launch companies in Europe with over €86m of project financing secured, several customers signed up, launch licence application submitted, and backing from organisations including UKSA and ESA. Our client is a rapidly growing company with staff located between the company’s production and test facilities in Scotland and Denmark. Working on cutting edge advances in rocket fuel technology, our client’s carbon footprint is up to 96% lower than comparable vehicles, leading to innovations in propulsion and tank structures. A state-of-the-art re-flight system means our client can recover and reuse their technology, and innovations in separation mechanisms mean they leave no debris on orbit. Having developed in-house production capability, they can 3D print complex engines, produce full-scale carbon composite fuel tanks, and have avionics and software testing labs in both Scotland and Denmark. Based in Copenhagen, you will be right in the heart of this fast-paced cutting-edge company, using your skills to build a new launch vehicle for a buoyant commercial market.
