KDC Projects support OEM companies engaged in the development, delivery and support of leading-edge engineering projects. We currently require a Head of Systems to support our engineering function and grow our capability within the Engineering Services division. You will work within our established Engineering Services Division dealing with multiple projects ensuring delivery to time, cost and specification/quality whilst managing risk.
The Head of Systems will be a dynamic, committed and enthusiastic member of the engineering services team, who will report to the Operations Manager. The role is to develop customer relationships and ensure that our delivered solutions meet our clients exacting standards both in terms of technical acceptance and commercial value. The Head of Systems has Technical Management responsibility for the projects and works with the Operations Manager to ensure delivery to quality and budget.
Project Strategy - In conjunction with the Operations Manager the Head of Systems will be responsible for the development of the strategies for delivering to quality, cost and on time delivery on the projects undertaken by the office.
Project Support - The Head of Systems will provide comprehensive support to the Operations Manager and engineering staff covering all aspects of project execution: technical, management, standards etc.
Sales Support - The Head of Systems will be required to support the company's sales activities and will actively participate in the development of bid strategies, estimate reviews and undertake presentations to prospective customers
Project Work - The Head of Systems may be required to undertake project work. This shall be such that it does not significantly disrupt the primary role. It is likely that project work will be either technical management or Systems Engineering activities as required.
Quality Management - The Head of Systems will work with the Operations Manager to ensure that the Company's Quality systems are always followed.
Commercial Management - To manage the technical project work to ensure compliance with the business commercial objectives and policies including the management of risks, change and resources across the department and individual projects.
The Successful Candidate will have the following skills and experience
-Extensive knowledge of aircraft systems including Avionics, Mechanical, Electrical and Fuel
-Full life cycle experience - taking a project from conception to completion
-Experience in the Technical and Commercial Delivery of multiple projects
-Managerial experience, the ability to manage teams of engineers across multiple sites
-Multi sector experience
-Flexible to travel and work at customer sites from time to time
-Ability to grow the Systems Engineering capabilities and services to include model based solutions
-Experience of managing resources effectively
-Commercially astute writing proposals, identifying risks and assumptions
-Proven record in dealing with customers
