Job Description

KDC are searching for Mechanical Design Engineers for a position with a leading company in the Nuclear Industry.

This company produces bespoke machinery for the nuclear industry; including packaging, handling and decommissioning equipment for nuclear material. In this role you will be involved in the full product life cycle and developed to eventually running the project from requirements gathering, through Design and Manufacture all the way through to delivery and integration with the client.
We can consider individuals from Graduate level all the way up to a senior Mechanical Design Engineer who can hit the ground running.

To give you an idea of exactly what you will be involved in please see some of the responsibilities below:
•To produce engineering designs and associated engineering documents (such as drawings, calculations, reports) and ensure they are completed within the required timescales.
•To issue engineering documents as required.
•To progress small and medium sized engineering projects, as allocated or working as part of a team on larger projects. In both cases, most work should be carried out with minimal supervision, but with regular consultation with the Head of Development or other team members.
•Project work, in addition to design, will include all aspects of the design process such as Draughting and testing of products, as well as other organizational tasks as deemed appropriate in order to ensure timely progress of projects being worked on.

Due to the overall involvement of this role we are looking for an individual who is very savvy on the engineering side of things and has an appreciation of testing and managing manufacture. You do not necessarily need to have a lot of experience in all of these areas but it would be beneficial.

This individual must also have a strong capability in Design on any of the following CAD systems:
•SolidWorks
•SolidEdge
•Pro Engineer (Wildfire/Creo)

I am working on multiple roles within mechanical Design so if this isn't the perfect fit for you, please still give me a ring and we can have a confidential chat on where you are looking for your career to go and what other roles I have on at the moment!
