Job Description

KDC are currently working on a key role for a Quality Engineer supporting the design, development and delivery of complex products. Working with internal and external customers to provide assurance that the products and services delivered, are complaint with the relevant quality and regulatory standards

Reporting relationships
Reports Directly to the Head of Business Assurance

Quality Assurance across all aspects of the project life cycle including the activities in the external supply chain. To provide assurance to the company and customers that the appropriate QA requirements are being met including quality control activities throughout the project life cycle

Knowledge, skills and personal qualities required Essential
-Proven capability in auditing, process development and improvement
-Knowledge of Defence and Quality standards and familiar with MoD requirements for Quality Assurance
-Experience of supplier quality assurance activities
-Strong problem solving skills
-Good commercial awareness and customer facing skills
-Conversant with requirements of AS9100

-Degree qualification or equivalent
-Lead auditor qualification
-Background in system engineering
-Aerospace background or equivalent

-Willingness to challenge the status quo
-Ability to challenge staff at all levels to ensure compliance to business processes and standards
-Supporting business change from R&D to production

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
• Provide independent assessment of lifecycle design review inputs, entry and exit criteria
• Responsibility for independent authority during validation and verification activities
• Carry out quality audits and surveillance activities
• Promote and support quality within all areas of the business
• Ownership of quality activities throughout lifecycle including delivery documentation sign off
• Ownership of non-conformance management activities including identification of solutions to issues and implementation of robust preventative actions
• Verification and validation activities including FAT testing and sign off
• Dealing with customer concerns
• Effective and timely monitoring and status reporting
