•As a part of the team you will help develop production ready designs that meet the customer requirement specification.
•Ensure all design and project activity is carried out to Company procedures or overriding customer requirements.
•When directed to be the project owner you will be responsible for design file management, project resource management, project schedule adherence and project budget management. You will be expected to provide monthly reports to the Engineering Manager on project performance and coordinate design reviews.
•Provide timely engineering responses to Technical Queries.
•Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and ensure that the Engineering process is adhered to.
•Prepare technical proposals and quotations under the direction of the Engineering Manager. Check analysis, technical reports and Engineering Instructions.
•Technically direct junior Design colleagues and contractors, and provide coaching and advice as needed.
•Support design data related import and export requests for the Data Control department to both suppliers and customers.
•Undertake continuous personal development and keep abreast of industry specific design engineering developments and innovation.
•Other tasks as required in support of company strategy, as directed by the Engineering Manager.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
•Relevant Engineering further education or equivalent experience and further professional training.
•Proven design engineering experience using a relevant design tool.
•Good understanding of 3D CAD software (preferably CATIA V5).
•Working knowledge of typical design office procedures.
•Understanding of composite materials and ability to generate design solutions to meet technical specifications under the direction of the Engineering Manager.
•Ability to provide design led input to engineering review meetings.
•Communicates assertively and professionally at all levels with internal & external contacts; demonstrates strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills.
•Able to direct, coach and influence the performance of junior colleagues.
•Highly accurate, strong attention to detail and methodical approach; able to write thorough and clear reports.
•Must be results-driven and have the ability to manage multiple priorities, working to tight deadlines.
•Computer literate in MS Office software.
•A good team player with a flexible attitude to work load.
