Senior Product Validation Engineer

Job Description

You will be working with a dynamic engineering business and their groundbreaking product, which they supply to the aerospace and automotive markets. They are currently entering a huge growth phase due to a number of new contracts and are looking to boost their engineering capability.

As a Senior Product Validation Engineer, you will have a big role in mentoring other engineers and have an impact on the expansion of your team. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the validation process of the products within the company, which involves ensuring that the product meets its specifications, functions correctly, and performs reliably in various scenarios before it is released to the customers or the market.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree: 2-3 years of experience with this degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Able to provide evidence of ongoing continual professional development
  • Good practical ability, and experience of designing and executing bodies of testing
  • Generating requirements documents
  • Defining validation plans for requirements
  • Executing validation plans (including task management of others conducting tests)
  • Critical analysis of test data
  • Writing test methods and reports
  • Presenting results to stakeholders
  • Experience interacting with customers, including writing technical reports and presenting results

Beneficial Requirements:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of design, build and operation of electro-mechanical test rigs
  • Knowledge of metal 3D printing and post-processing
  • Knowledge of conventional machining processes
  • Familiar with hydraulic systems and circuit design
  • Experience working in either the automotive or aerospace industry

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of technical matters and setting a high working standard within the Product Validation team
  • Creating and overseeing the execution of Verification and Validation plans
  • Working with multi-disciplinary teams to develop new products
  • Writing technical documents, including Test Methods and Reports
  • Identifying and owning improvement activities within the Product Validation and Technology teams
  • Technical leadership and mentoring, supporting validation engineers on larger projects
