An exciting new opportunity has just opened with our client. We are looking for experienced Structural/ Stress Engineers to start as soon as possible.
As a Structural/ Stress Engineer you will be able to provide activities with the objectives of compliance with airworthiness requirements and meeting specifications, cost and schedule requirements. This includes liaison with CAA, EASA MOD, customer, contractors and internal departments on all matters relating to the required structural engineering standards on behalf of our Client.
Main Responsibilities and tasks:
•You will be providing a structural engineering service in an effective and well-documented manner, as instructed by the Head of Technical Projects, in accordance with good engineering practice and the Company's quality assurance system.
•Be able to support the overall manufacturing process by the timely production of stress analysis requirements and drawings approved for production.
•Be able to give an effective liaison and advisory service to regulatory bodies, customers and operators.
•You will support internal and external requests for concession and production permit approvals and to respond in a timely manner.
•Carry out the day-to-day tasks of the Structural Engineering Group as defined in the Design Organisation Handbook.
•Providing support to customers and operators with respect to repairs and modifications to in-service aircraft, as instructed by the Head of Technical Projects.
•You will be able to answer shop floor and other internal department queries with regard to materials and processes.
•Liaising with regulatory and other bodies such as CAA, EASA and the MoD.
•You will be supporting with respect to the production of service literature and technical publications.
•Undertaking any other reasonable responsibilities and tasks required to support the activities of the Company, within the scope of the Design Organisation Handbook.

Skills and abilities:
•Be able to develop effective relationships with colleagues
•Numerical analysis and report writing skills
•Communicating effectively and clearly to a wide range of people at all levels within the business and outside of the organisation
•Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
•Remain flexible to meet the wider demands of an expanding business
•0 - 4 years post-graduate experience
•Experience of stressing techniques applicable to light / general aviation type aircraft
•Of an experience level to become an approved stress signatory within the company approvals
•Practical knowledge with preferably apprentice-type training
•Able to derive overall aircraft loads and load distributions
•Computer-literate and familiar with normal office and spreadsheet techniques
•SC Clearance required
Qualification and Education:
•Academically qualified to degree level (or well-established as a Chartered Engineer) in an aeronautical or structural discipline. (Experience in lieu of qualifications may be accepted.)
