Job Description

KDC are now recruiting for a new Supply Chain Manager to join our client in Portland. If you are working in the supply chain and you're looking for a new challenge where you can build your experience and expand your knowledge, then this could be the job for you.

Day to day task:
•Manage Procurement and Stores functions
•Maintain accuracy and availability of all stock materials, minimising out of life and obsolescence
•Authorise direct and indirect procurement in line with company policy
•Capital Expenditure sourcing and the procurement and provision of services
•Supplier evaluation, selection and approval, management of approved supplier list
•Supplier performance and risk management
•Support Bid Team with all procurement requirements
•Develop staff to ensure that they are all competent and approved for their work tasks
•Co-operate with Heads of Departments, such as Engineering, QA and Finance appreciating those internal customers can be as important as external customers
•Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner, as far as reasonably practicable, as set out in the company health & safety policy and in accordance with the Safe Systems of Work' and Risk Assessments'
•Leadership and communication with both internal and external stakeholders, managing available resources to meet or exceed the budget and targets agreed. Engage with the cross functional management teams in the business and contribute to the overall performance and well-being of the company
•Fulfill the roles and responsibilities defined for the management team within the Business Continuity Management System
•Lead by example; promote and act in accordance with Company values, systems, policies and procedures

Ideal requirements:
•Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply - MCIPs; desirable
•Minimum 5 years Purchasing Experience, preferably gained leading a team
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Customer focused and quick to respond
•AS9100/ISO9001 Awareness
•Computer literate, Windows based and ERP Knowledge preferred
•A strong team leader; delegates, coaches and mentors within the team
•Practical and positive with a flexible and conscientious get it done approach to work load; acts as a role model to others
•Communicates assertively and professionally at all levels with internal and external contacts; builds effective and supportive working relationships and networks
•Committed to the company culture and values
•A safety-conscious approach to work
