Are you looking for your first step in your accounting career? We are looking for a new apprentice to join our local business at Bournemouth Airport!

As a Trainee Accountant/Apprentice you will join the dedicated and experienced Finance Team. The role will be in the Admin/Finance team of four staff, reporting to the Admin Supervisor. Initially it will involve training on Purchase/Sales Ledger and running the weekly contractor payroll, with additional duties including HR Administration and General Office Admin.

Any applicants would need be willing to work towards AAT certificates, which the company would fund and enroll you with a local programme or training (Likely to be with Bournemouth & Poole College).

Standard weekly hours: 37 (8 hours: Mon - Thur; 5 hours Fri)

Starting basic salary: £12,000

Start date: ASAP (likely to now be Jan/Feb 2021)

The Role:
Working at the centre of the business the Accounts Apprentice role will be varied and would suit someone seeking broad experience and development in a number of areas and seeking an alternative to the university route. No direct experience is anticipated as full training will be given.
Being a smaller company, the breadth of involvement will be far greater than it would be in a corporate environment.
For the right person there will be the opportunity to progress with KDC.

Reporting to the Admin Supervisor and supporting the accounts and admin team, duties will include:
oSales and Purchase invoicing
oBank reconciliations
oContractor payroll
oBank payments
oChasing overdue payments by phone and email
oPreparing Management Information and reporting
oHR Administration/security clearances/onboarding documentation
oOther general office tasks to ensure the smooth running of the business
oDatabase cleansing (GDPR)

Potential to:
oAssist the IT Manager with building and deploying IT equipment
oAd-hoc support to the Marketing Manager

Helpful skills:
oProblem solving, tenacity and a willingness to suggest solutions
oNumeracy and enjoyment of working with numbers
oSelf-starter and using initiative
oComfortable with IT and new software (KDC's aim is to be paperless)

Preferred: A level
Minimum: English/Maths GCSE grade C/5

Prospect of permanent position for the right candidate with exciting opportunities to grow into more senior roles
Ideally the right person would been keen to go beyond the apprenticeship training to fully complete their AAT with the intention of commencing ACCA to become a qualified accountant.
