Job Description

KDC Projects require an Account Manager for a major Defence Customer. This is a mid to senior role requiring the candidate to work autonomously to build the business and ensure the customer relationship is optimal at all times. This means there is accountability for the maintenance of the account and involvement in bids, work packages, and responses to large tenders.
 
Key areas of Responsibility

• Account Strategy – setting the direction of the account and ensuring you understands the actions to realise its success.
• Key customer relationship management including senior levels, procurement, and relationship building of new and existing relationships.
• Anticipating performance gaps on the account and devising approaches to solve them.  Liaise with technical and operational functions as appropriate.
• Assisting / mentoring as required.
• Reporting into Sales Director.
• Weekly reporting into the account Operations meeting
• Weekly Hubspot update and active management of opportunities
• Attendance of Monthly Key Account Meeting and updating account plan with an accurate forecast and actions to realise this.
• Bid responses
• Attendance of customer sites as required – clean driving licence and own transport essential.
• Support to other accounts when needed
• Budgeting
• Building Sales – actively build and manage a sales funnel
• Commercial negotiation and sign off on contracts
• General problem solving – acting as the point of escalation for all customer issues.

 Essential Skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with OEM defence companies
• Must be able to work autonomously, make decisions, and lead the account
• Must be highly organised

Desirable Skills

• Hubspot
• Familiarity with Mechanical, Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering
• Background in Sales
• Familiarity with the maritime division
